Making Adirondack Chairs

I and three other apprentices at the Carpenter's Boat Shop built two Adirondack Chairs which the school sells to support its free apprenticeship program. The chairs are a classic design made with local cedar. What I learned most from this project was how to make the best use of lumber for the different parts of the chair based on grain direction and knot locations.
